Privacy Policy

Who this policy is about

OPPWA — Organised Purchasing Power WA — operates cooperative purchasing networks in Western Australia, currently GOPP (Geraldton and Mid West), SWOPP (State Wide) and AOPP (Albany and Great Southern). This policy covers the information collected through this website. It does not cover the information a cooperative holds about you once you are a member or a partner, which is governed by your membership or partner agreement.

What this website collects

This website collects information in one place only: the enquiry forms. If you send an enquiry, we collect the business name you give, your name, your email address, and — if you provide them — your phone number, your town and postcode, your ABN, and whatever you write in the message field.

We also record the time of the submission, the browser user agent string your browser sends, and a salted one-way hash of the network address the submission came from. The address itself is not stored. The hash lets us tell that two submissions came from the same origin, which is how the form resists automated abuse; it cannot be reversed into an address or a location.

What this website does not collect

There is no analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising network and no third-party script on this site. No cookies are set. Nothing you do on these pages is recorded unless you submit an enquiry form, and if you close the page without submitting, nothing about your visit is kept.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, and to place it with the cooperative that serves your area. An enquiry creates a lead record in our own systems so that a person can follow it up. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell information, we do not share it with our partners for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you sent an enquiry.

Who can see it

Staff of OPPWA and of the cooperative your enquiry is routed to. Where an enquiry cannot be routed — because the town is one we do not yet recognise — it is visible to OPPWA staff so that somebody can place it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept as a record of what was submitted and what happened to it. A submission we could not act on, including one caught by the abuse controls, is kept so that the controls can be reviewed and corrected: a genuine enquiry wrongly turned away is a failure we want to be able to find.

Consent

The enquiry form asks you to agree to this policy before it will accept a submission, and records which version of it you agreed to. If you do not agree, the form does not create a lead.

Access, correction and complaints

You may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by contacting us through the contact page. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

Each published version of this policy is kept, with the dates it was in effect. A change creates a new version; it does not overwrite the version you agreed to.

Status of this system

OPPWA.OS, the system behind this website and behind the cooperatives' own operations, is in operation. This policy describes what the enquiry forms on this website do.
